Lake Manyara national park established in 1960 located 126 km2 southwest of Arusha and can be reached by car in an hour and a half from the city of Arusha.
The Park consists of 330 km2 of Arid land, Forest and Soda lake which cover as much as 200 km2 of the land during the wet season.
It is famous for flamingos that inhabit the edge of the lake, but flamingos are not present during the dry season the park is located in both Arusha and Manyara
Lake Manyara comprised of more than 400 species of birds inhabits the park throughout out the year this lake is good for bird watching.
The amazing tree-climbing lions can be seen at Manyara national park occasionally along the branches of acacia trees this is the situation that attracts many visitors also like to visit Lake Manyara not only to see the lions but also lake Manyara comprised of other animals like Elephant, Zebra, Wildebeest along with so many giraffes and Buffalo.
Lake Manyara can be visited throughout the year, but November, October and September are the best time to visit because animals can be seen easily with lots of sun and little rain and it’s very rare to get malaria because mosquitoes are few.
The newly introduced Hot Springs Boardwalk on November 27, 2014, and the best hippo pool viewpoint in Lake Manyara National Park were designed purposely to give visitors a nice place to walk along the number of hot springs and be close to the attractions and enjoy the wide view of the lake.
