When to go

Zanzibar is at its most inviting in the dry, sunny stretches of June to October and December to February — calm seas, clear skies and perfect conditions for diving, snorkelling and dhow cruises. The long rains of April and May are best avoided. A beach finish slots neatly onto the end of any mainland safari.
